HAZLETON – Rep. Tarah Toohil (R-Luzerne) plans to join a Conyngham Valley civic organization in remembering local residents and families whose lives have been touched by cancer on Saturday, Sept. 12. The event is part of a larger observance that will take place nationwide.
“As a result of the pandemic, American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN) volunteers will not gather for the annual Lights of Hope ceremony at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C., as they do annually,” said Toohil. “Instead, local advocates will celebrate 10 years of hope here at home. I am looking forward to taking part.”
On that day, the Conyngham Valley Civic Organization (CVCO) will be hosting a Lights of Hope drive-through event. The display will occur around the CVCO pool off of Main Street in Conyngham at 7 p.m. In the event of rain, the display will occur under the park pavilion behind the pool (also a drive-by location).
