Pennsylvania has thousands of places to visit for summertime fun, and the Happy Traveler Guide is a great tool to help you plan. The guide is available online at www.visitpa.com.

Categorized by region, the guide includes nearly 100 pages of attractions, lodging options, dining and many other recreational activities, stretching from Lake Erie to the City of Brotherly Love. The attractions are specially marked for these traveler categories: adventure, arts and culture, family, foodie, history buff, party animal and shopper.

This year’s guide celebrates our awesome amusement parks, eight of which are more than 100 years old. Pennsylvania is also home to more roller coasters rated in the top 100 by Amusement Today than any other state.

Tourism is one of our state’s largest industries, injecting $41 billion annually into the economy and supporting nearly half a million jobs.

Another opportunity for some summertime fun is the Pennsylvania Ice Cream Trail. To help find the best of the best and support local farms, an expanded trail program has been unveiled for 2019. It includes a passport that visitors can have stamped at each of 32 stops along the three trails in eastern, southcentral and western Pennsylvania.

More information about creameries on the trail, including a downloadable passport and prize information, can be found at www.visitPA.com/scoops. Be sure to post your pictures to social media using the #PursueYourScoops hashtag.

The trails officially opened June 1 in conjunction with the start of Dairy Month in Pennsylvania.
