Toohil to Host Concealed Carry Seminar on Oct. 13
HAZLETON – In an effort to better inform area gun owners regarding Pennsylvania’s firearms laws, Rep. Tarah Toohil (R-Luzerne) is hosting a Concealed Carry Seminar on Thursday, Oct. 13. The free event will be held at the
Butler Township Community Center, 411 W. Butler Drive in Drums from 6-8 p.m.
The seminar will be conducted by Luzerne County District Attorney Stefanie Salavantis and Luzerne County Sheriff Brian Szumski, who will discuss Pennsylvania’s firearms laws and answer questions.
“I encourage any gun owner who is unsure about his or her rights to make plans to attend,” said Toohil. “Our experts will explain how to safely interact with police when carrying a firearm and the legal aspects of Pennsylvania’s Castle Doctrine, which allows a homeowner to use deadly force, if necessary, when threatened by an armed intruder.”
Seating is limited. Participants are asked to contact Toohil’s office at (570) 453-1344 to make a reservation, or register online at
